I regret to inform those of you who care, I am no longer going to be updating this web site. After much thought I have decided not to continue on with this website. I just can’t find the time to keep this site up to date anymore. I have much more important things to be doing with my time these days.

I will keep what content I have here on-line for those who are interested. Eventually I will migrate this page to my Creative Maven Media domain. Right now my main focus is on my freelance work and my husband’s website ChrisHadMS.com.

For those of you who care, please check out my husband’s site and you will get a pretty good idea of what has been going on in my life since March.

Take care and thank you for your patronage over the past years. I can still be reached by e-mail if neccesary.

I know it has been a long time since I wrote last. It has been sooo busy around here! Chris has been approved for the Hi-Cy treatment at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore so we have been getting ready for that. We leave on the 10th and return sometime in early April if all goes well. I will be updating Chris’ blog for him while he is undergoing the treatment. Part of the protocol for the treatment requires someone to be with him 24/7. So I get to be bored out of my mind in a Baltimore hotel room with him.

I just wanted to give you all an update n what’s going on. I have so much to try to get done before we leave.

Gotta run!

Well, I just completed my first week at my new job. It took me nearly a month and a half to finally find something that was a good fit for me. I am now working at a “low voltage” wire & cable company here in Denver. I am their administrative and sales assistant. I make more now than I did with FASTSIGNS for less work and stress. I can’t get over how laid back this place is. There are only 6 employees including me. I find the other people in each other’s offices chatting occasionally. It is such a better working environment and so stress free. I think I am going to be very happy here. I have a variety of tasks that I do with very little supervision which is nice.

We are still waiting for Johns Hopkins to get back with us regarding the MS treatment. We are waiting on my health insurance company to make a decision. It should be any day now, but who knows with United Healthcare. Unfortunately, if they say no we are screwed because my new health insurance is going to be United Healthcare as well… D’OH!

If anyone needs any CAT5, Coax, fiber optic, speaker, fire alarm, or HDMI cables please let me know!

Till next time,

So it’s been over two months since my last post. I apologize for not keeping up on writing. Things here have been hectic to say the least. Where to start?

Got my car fixed - they totaled it and I ended up spending $1,200 of my own money for the rental car and repairs. I waited nearly a month for the lady’s insurance company to make a decision and they were just taking too long. I had to get it fixed. Now I don’t know if I should call this old lady and ask her for the money or what. The accident wasn’t my fault, I shouldn’t have to pay, right?

What else? Oh, I lost my new wonderful job on Dec 3rd. I pretty much needed some time off short notice to take care of a medical scare Chris had and they canned me. Chris had an MRI done and they found some shadows in his lungs… not cancer, but we didn’t know that at the time! It was never an issue with my old boss, he wouldn’t like it but was always accommodating. I just thank God it happened before I terminated my health insurance benefits through my old employer. I don’t know what I would have done if Chris lost his medical insurance. So I have been unemployed for about a month now and feel completely worthless.

I have been searching for graphics, administrative/clerical, and customer service jobs. I really want to get out of sales altogether. I never really considered myself much of a salesperson to begin with. I have had a few interviews, but still nothing has materialized. I have applied at a few temp agencies but this time of year is pretty slow.

It also doesn’t help that I may be accompanying Chris to Baltimore for a month for an “experimental” treatment at John Hopkins. Not many employers are willing to hire someone knowing that they will need a month off almost right away. I am going to try to get temp work while in Baltimore but we’ll see how that goes. We will have to spend a chunk to stay there for a month. These expenses will be able to be deducted from our taxes as medical expenses, but we’ll still have to pay upfront. This treatment looks very promising so it is worthwhile for us to go through all this headache.

So what is this treatment you say? John Hopkins is doing a study of the off-label use of a chemotherapy drug called Cyclophosphamide. They administer it in a very high dose to kill off the immune system (not bone marrow or stem cells, though). The therapy only takes 4 days butt they keep you there a month to rebuild your immune system and keep an eye on you. The theory is that by “rebooting” the immune system, it comes back WITHOUT the Multiple Sclerosis. Many people are actually IMPROVING over the course of 6mo to a year. You have to first get through the side effects of the chemo before showing any improvement. They said one guy came in and got the treatment who was bound to a wheelchair. The next year he came in, he ran to his appointment, something like 5 miles! We are hoping that Chris will improve enough over the next two years that he’d be well enough to return to work. We have a preliminary appointment on the 9th. We’ll know soon after that when we have to go for a month.

I have never been much of a religious person, but I know when I can’t handle something on my own. I ask for your thoughts, prayers and support right now.

Thanks for reading…

Very down and depressed,

I can’t believe I get paid to drive around and BS with people. I love my new job!! I am sure there are going to be things that suck about it as with any job, but I am ecstatic. My new boss Tara told me yesterday I am doing great. They sent me out on my 2nd day to start meeting with the FASTSIGNS people if nothing else. I have impressed her by showing initiative to visit other sign shops that are nearby the stops I make.

Unfortunately, yesterday I was involved in a car accident. A 77 year old woman didn’t see me and pulled out in front of me. I slammed on my brakes as soon as I saw her move into my lane but I could not stop in time. I guess I scared her pretty bad - she said it it wasn’t for her Depends she would have had an accident. I feel really bad about hitting her, but there was nothing I could do. I was going under the speed limit because I didn’t know the area. The Colorado State Patrol came out to the scene and he assured me that she was at fault. So at least her insurance company will be paying for my repairs. Just a big pain in the ass. Luckily no one was hurt.. which is kind of a shock when you see how bad off my car is. Her Cadillac had some scratches on the bumper and it was popping off a little - nothing compared to my car! That thing is built like a tank. It’s funny, even with the accident I am still in a great mood! I would rather be in a car accident than work another day for Lee at FASTSIGNS… pretty bad eh?

Since gallery is down, here is a photo uploaded into the blog.

I need to get more space, and I guess they updated the php on the server which made Gallery poop out on us. I have them looking into it for me.

Anyway, I have a hell of a day ahead. Gotta get a rental car this morning and head off to work. I need to go get ready.

Watch out for the old people drivers! Gooooo Rockies!!!!
